ਨਵੰਬਰ '84 ਦੀ ਨਸਲਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਐਤਕੀਂ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ ਯਾਦ

ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਆਧਾਰਤ ਸੰਸਥਾ "ਵਰਲਡ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ" ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਿਆਂ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਵੰਬਰ 1984 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ 'ਚ ਹੋਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਨਸਲਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਨਵੰਬਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਹਫਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਇਸਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਖਿੱਚ ਕੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਏ 'ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਏ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਕਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ #TheyLiveHere ਅਤੇ #SikhGenocide ਹੈਸ਼ਟੈਗ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਣ।

ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਛੜੀਆਂ ਰੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ ਬਲਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਘਰ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ।

36 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਏ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਮੋਮਬੱਤੀ/ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਲਾਈਏ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ, ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਫਰਤ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਾਂ।

ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ-ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਵੀ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦਾਨੀ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ 'ਚ ਅਪਾਇੰਟਮੈਂਟ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਖੂਨਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਣ।

This November, the World Sikh Organization of Canada's volunteers and families are encouraging all Sikhs and allies to light a candle outside their home for the first week of the month to commemorate the 1984 Sikh Genocide. Participants are encouraged to take a photo and share it on social media with the hashtags #TheyLiveHere and #SikhGenocide.

WSO said, "We wish to use this opportunity to not only remember the innocent lives lost and to support survivors, but to also mark our homes as a sign of resilience. Thirty-six years ago, they marked Sikh homes to target us; today we mark our own homes with light because we are a community that fights the darkness of hate and fear.
